By creating suction, fire cupping causes blockages in the flow of fluid in the body’s connective tissues to free themselves up. The sensation tha you can expect when undergoing a procedure like this is something like certain types of professional massages. You will literally be able to feel tension in your body, particularly in your back muscles, beginning to free up. Very relaxing and promotes the smooth flow of blood and qi to internal organs as well as a great way to detoxify.
A form of Chinese manipulative therapy used in conjunction with acupuncture and fire cupping, defined as (Tui) push, and (na) pull. It is a hands on treatment tha helps restore the body’s natural healing process, relieves pain and restores internal balance and removes blockage in the meridian and muscles by promoting the flow of blood and qi. Tuina opens the joints and opens the body’s defense wei qi to allow the energy to move through. Tuina includes a range of motion including traction, massage of acupoints and local pain areas to help treat both acute and chronic musculosketal conditions.
Gua is to scrap or rub and sha is the blood stasis in the subcutaneous tissue before and after it is released, appearing in the form of reddish, elevated skin ‘rash’. Guash is a Traditional Chinese healing art that dates back to over two thousand years. Guasha also helps to promote qi and blood circulation as well as remocing heat, toxins and stagnant blood and lymph fluid from the body to improve one’s health. Great healing art for toxins, stagnation of blood and lymph fluid, fatigue and emotional stress. As the body receives guash it pushes a build up of fluid ahead of the tool and after it leaves a ‘vacuum’ effect which draws toxic fluid to the surface of the skin from deep within the tissue. Red spots that appear on the skin indicate that toxins are being released, if the area is deep purple it indicates blood stagnation, dark green discoloration is a sign that the blood and toxic qi are being released from the system.
