How does ThermiSmooth® Body work and what does it do?
ThermiSmooth® Body works by delivering high-powered, temperature-controlled Radio Frequency (RF). This is a precise, safe, and non-invasive treatment performed using specially-designed, thermistor-regulated handpieces that gently heat the skin’s surface and desired tissue. Dermal heating promotes the creation of new collagen. Results are due to precisely targeting areas under the skin, providing a temporary reduction of cellulite from eyes to thighs.

What is RF energy?
RF (Radio Frequency) is a type of electrical energy that creates heat in the target tissue through resistance. Due to its controllable properties, the energy can be applied precisely for depth and temperature.

Is it painful?
Most patients tolerate the treatment well and have little or no discomfort. Actually, patients often say it feels like receiving a warm massage.

Where will the treatment be performed?
The ThermiSmooth® treatment will be performed onsite at Vibe Salon & MediSpa in Bedford, Nova Scotia.

How many treatments will I need?
Only your physician can prescribe what is right for you; however, most patients receive a series of 4-6 treatments approximately 1-2 weeks apart.

How long can I expect the ThermiSmooth® Body results to last?
Clinical research has shown that the effects of the treatment may last 12 months or more. Results may vary.

How soon will I be able to see results?
This varies from patient to patient; however, you may see some results after just 1 treatment. For optimal results, a series of 4-6 treatments is recommended.

What pre- and post- care do I need to follow?
Prior to treatment, all metal objects should be removed, including all jewelry and piercings. Patients should hydrate well before and after treatments for optimal results. You should avoid exposure to direct sunlight and tanning beds for 24 hours before and after treatments. Soothing, non-irritating creams and moisturizers may be used after treatments.

How soon can I return to my normal activities after the treatment?
This treatment has no downtime. You may immediately resume your normal daily activities following treatment.

What will I look like after the treatment?
The treated areas will be slightly pink. Heating of the skin promotes three different kinds of effect. Some of those effects are immediate, such as contraction of collagen, collagen remodeling, and increased elasticity. With time, further tightening of the skin is apparent due to the stimulation of fibroblasts which leads to new collagen production over the long-term. Continued improvements may be noticeable up to 6 months.

What should I expect to feel like after the treatment?
Patients may experience warmth and mild redness to skin that usually dissipates about 30 minutes after treatment but can last up to 2-4 hours. Your treated area may be mildly swollen immediately after treatments. Depending on the area treated you may experience some mild “aching”, like a sore muscle after a workout. This should resolve in 24-48 hours.

Am I a good candidate?
If you have cellulite, laxity, and unwanted fat anywhere on the body from head to toe, you are a good candidate. Some of the contraindications that will exclude you from being a good candidate are being pregnant and implanted devices such as—but not limited to—pacemakers, defibrillator, cochlear ear implant or any other implantable mechanical device affected by radio frequency.
